The Phoenix Falconry Team from Perthshire will
travel to the National Countrysports Fair where they will not only fly
their magnificent birds of prey in the show's Main Arena twice each day
but also man the Falconry Mews, a purpose built facility at the show
which will house around twenty birds of prey from the British Isles,
Europe, Asia and America.
It's here at the falconry
mews where the public can really get up close to the birds of prey and
even have their photograph taken with a bird on their arm! On
view will be the magnificent American bald eagle, falcons from North
Africa, and hawks from South America, owls from the forests of Europe
and falcons and kestrels from Britain. Phoenix Falconry's head
falconer, Adrian Hallgarth will be accompanied by four of his fellow
falconers. The National
Countrysports Fair is their favourite event of the year which sees them
travelling widely through Britain and the Continent. In addition to the twice-daily flying displays, the
birds of prey will be on view throughout the event in the Falconry Mews
with team members there to explain the origins of the birds and give
visitors an insight into the wonderful world of falconry.
